From tap card to wallet push.

Almost five years ago, we were putting physical NFC cards and QR codes in people's hands. Tap the card, and your details opened on the phone. For local businesses at the time, that was a big deal, and it is the start of our story.

Where we started on the card

This video is from that era. It walks through making a custom NFC business card from start to finish: the design, the print, and the programming. Watch it for the original idea, then keep reading for where it went.

Where we are now

Today we are the Lowcountry's leading digital, high-tech marketing agency. We still support NFC and QR codes, because they still work and plenty of customers expect them. But the bigger shift is what sits on the customer's phone.

Wallet passes and push notifications

Through our platform, we can now send push notifications to customers through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes. That is far superior in most ways to a card sitting in a drawer: the pass lives next to a customer's tickets and loyalty cards, and it can reach them when something matters.

We are also building it so our partners can resell these push notifications through wallet passes to their own clients. We are sharing the foundation first, and the partner side is the next step.

Credibility comes first

We did not start with wallet passes. We started with tap cards, QR codes, websites and the basics done well, and that track record is why we can offer the newer tools with confidence. Before anything else, we want you to know we have been here, doing the work, for a long time.

Quick checklist

  • Keep the tap and QR experience you already have, so no customer gets left behind.
  • Add a wallet pass when you are ready for updates that reach customers directly.
  • Use the same name, phone and email on your card, your pass and your Google Business Profile.
